TreeFam v1.8

Description

The TreeFam ontology contains data about the evolutionary history (both orthologs and paralogs) of gene families. A gene family is defined as "a group of genes that evolved after the speciation of single-metazoan animals". Our ontology contains genes for individual species (human or mouse), thus families consist of paralogs.

Statistics

The human hg19 ontology contains 7,947 families, 16,419 genes, and 16,756 associations.

The human hg18 ontology contains 7,947 families, 16,434 genes, and 16,756 associations.

The mouse mm9 ontology contains 7,783 families, 17,054 genes, and 17,219 associations.

The zebrafish danRer7 ontology contains 6,010 terms, 11,324 genes and 11,338 associations.

Download

All data for human and mouse was downloaded on August 20, 2010 (TreeFam release 7).

For zebrafish, data was downloaded Jan 3, 2011 (TreeFam release 7).
